Government to no age limit in diploma admission

The government does not want to keep age limit for admission in technical education. To increase the enrollment rate in technical education and to provide institutional recognition to the skilled workers returning from abroad, there will be no age limit for admission to diploma course in these institutes. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni told it.
The minister said many people may have necessary technical skills but do not have an institutional certificate. They are not getting good job because they does not have a certificate or even if they gets job, not getting good salary. In that case, if they wants and if they have required academic qualifications, then the person can be admitted to the diploma course.
Dipu Moni said the present government is giving utmost importance to technical education in meeting the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and implementing Vision 41 announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Dipu Moni told it when she was speaking as the chief guest at a virtual meeting on technical education development on Wednesday (July 1).
At the same meeting, she decided to reduce the minimum qualifying GPA for boys from 3.5 to 2.5 and for girls to 3.25 for admission to diploma courses. Besides, she decided to reduce the admission fee for diploma courses from Tk 1,625 to Tk 1,090.
