That is why the government has taken a positive decision to open the educational institution. Meanwhile, seven colleges affiliated to the National University and Dhaka University have announced to take physical exams. Other universities will be announced later this month.
Relevant sources say that even if the educational institution is opened, all the teachers and students will have to take part in the class-examination in compliance with the health rules.
Sources said the government has a plan to open the universities first and complete the final undergraduate and postgraduate examinations earlier. The stuck graduates will then proceed to the first year admission test. Then the college and finally the school will be opened.
According to sources, the government is moving ahead step by step from higher level.
There are plans to open the university in late September or the first week of October once the vaccination is over. The residential halls will be opened at least one week before the start of classes. Besides, the university will be made suitable for transportation and bus-microbus etc.
A member of the University Grants Commission, who did not want to be named, said the announcement of the opening of the university would come at least two weeks in advance. Because even if the universities are autonomous and decide on their own, the vice chancellors will have a meeting with the government before making such a big announcement. There will be a detailed roadmap.
