Four oxygen concentrator machines have been installed for the covid-19 patients at Kushtia General Hospital. Of the machines, the District Corona Control and Prevention Committee has provided three and a drug company has one machine.
Nurun-Nahar Begum, the caretaker of the hospital, received the machines at her office on Sunday. Among others, Tapas Kumar Sarkar, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the hospital, Musa Kabir, Coordinator of Isolation Ward and Senior Medical Specialist of the hospital were present.
RMO Tapas said the machines would come in handy in case of emergency for Corona patients.
Medicine expert ASM Musa Kabir said, this machine is portable. It takes time to refill when the cylinder runs out of oxygen or central oxygen in the corona ward. At this time it is possible to give oxygen to the patient quickly with an oxygen concentrator machine. This machine can deliver it to the patient’s body with natural oxygen.
According to hospital sources, 48 corona positive patients are undergoing treatment in the isolation ward of the General Hospital. Of these, 26 are women and 18 are men.
