Despite many odds, garments employee Ismail Sheikh of Charshadipur village in Kushtia’s Kumarkhali upazila was returning home with his three member’s family just after Garments holiday.

But he had to face a tragic end of life along with his 14-year-old daughter Shikha Sheikh and 5-year-old son Malek in a road accident. Meanwhile, his wife Nazma injured is fighting for life.

Another man named Ashraful Islam of Mahishabathan village of Khoksar in Kushtia was with the family and injured.

The deceased Ismail and his wife Nazma were working in a garment factory in Savar.

The accident took place at around 12 on Monday night at Pangsha Aziz Sardar bus stand of Rajbari on the Kushtia-Rajbari regional highway.

Ashraful's nephew Raju Ahmed said they all rented a Mahendra (autorickshaw) across the Paturia-Daulatdia ghat last night to Kumarkhali. He talked to his uncle on his phone at around 11 last night.

His uncle told him that he was coming with a family from Kumarkhali. Raju said his uncle and the family started their journey from Gabtali around 6 am, said Raju.

Pangsha Highway Police Officer-In-Charge (OC) Liaquat Ali said a truck coming from the opposite direction hit the Mahendra at Sardar bus stand area. Mahendra overturned on the spot due to the hit.

After information, a team from the Pangsha Fire Service Station led the rescue operation.
Station officer Royal Ahmed said Ismail Sheikh and his daughter Shikha Sheikh died on the spot and Ismail's son Malek was in hospital.

The bodies of the deceased have been kept in the morgue of Rajbari Sadar Hospital.

Ismail Sheikh's wife Nazma and Ashraful Islam were first admitted to Khoksa Upazila Health Center and Kushtia General Hospital.

After the condition deteriorated, Ashraful was taken to Rajshahi Medical College this morning.
