Renowned Lalon artist Farida Parveen has been affected by Coronavirus.
According to her family sources, she had been feeling ill for several days and tested corona on April 6 that found got positive the next day.
As per the doctor's advice, her treatment is going on at home under special supervision. There is some shortness of breath. Occasionally there is more or less. Moreover, there are no more physical problems.
Farida Parveen is one of those who have gained fame in the country and abroad by singing Lalon's songs. She was born on 31 December 1954 in Shaol village of Singra upazila in Natore district. Although she was born in Natore, she grew up in Kushtia. She started signing Nazrul song in 1986 as a listed artist of Rajshahi Betar. Later, in 1973, she gained popularity by singing patriotic songs. Farida Parveen took training in Lalon Sangeet from Lalon disciple Moksed Ali Shah.
In 1987, Farida Parveen received the Ekushey Padak for her special contribution to the music industry. She also received the Fukuoka Asian Culture Award from the Government of Japan in 2008. She also won the National Film Award for Best Playback Singer in 1993.
