The Editor’s Council, one of the top organisations of daily newspapers editors in the country has appointed Dewan Hanif Mahmud as Acting Secretary General.

In a meeting of the association held recently took the decision.

Dewan Hanif Mahmud has been involved in journalism for more than two decades. He is a pride soul of the greater Kushtia region; His birthplace is Meherpur district.

He has studied in Kushtia Government College and other institutions in the country and abroad.
In addition to journalism, he has worked with various organizations related to journalism and its development. He was a member of the Press Council. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Newspaper Owners Association of Bangladesh (NOAB).

Earlier, he was the Director of the Board of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) for three years. Dewan Hanif Mahmud was also appointed as the Director to the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).

Hanif Mahmud has been congratulated by many people and organsiations.

In a message, editor and publisher of Bangla daily The Dainik Kushtia and English weekly The Kushtia Times, the top most circulated newspapers in Kushtia region Dr. Amanur Aman welcomed Dewan Hanif Mahmud.
