Infection of Covid-19 is increasing day by day in Kushtia. It seems to be now that there is no way to avert it. Identification and death row are rising on same angle. Amid this, the only corona dedicated Kushtia general hospital is often facing trouble to provide service due to patients overflow than its serving capacity.
Beside, more nine people have died in the last 24 hours in the district.
At the same time, corona of 324 people was identified in 830 sample tests. The detection rate is 39.02 percent.
There were 4 deaths in the previous 24 hours.
District Civil Surgeon Anwarul Islam on Thursday gave this information.
The Civil Surgeon said all those who died within 24 hours were undergoing treatment under the Kushtia District Health Department.
Abdul Momen, Deputy Director of Corona Dedicated Kushtia General Hospital, said 204 people were admitted to the 250-bed corona unit of Kushtia General Hospital till 9 am on Thursday. The previous day there were 200 people. He said the number of corona patient admissions is increasing every moment.
He said the patient could be admitted more but was having to trouble to provide medical services. Because there is not so much manpower.
He added that 2100 people are in home isolation in the district till 9 am today (Thursday). The previous day this number was 1839 people. The day before that was 1851.
As of Thursday morning, 8,050 people had been infected in Kushtia and 211 had died.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing lockdown in Kushtia district, a nationwide lockdown has started from today.
Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saidul Islam said the lockdown would be implemented as per the instructions. He sought the cooperation of all.
