Sampling of expatriates for Covid-19 test will start from today (July 20) in 13 districts including Kushtia. Kushtia has a Polymerase Chain Reaction PCR Lab.
Samples will be collected every day from 10 am to 4 pm, the health department said in a press release on Sunday.
The other districts are Barisal, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Comilla, Narayanganj, Khulna, Mymensingh, Bogra, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Rangpur and Sylhet. The place and schedule of sample collection will be known from the Civil Surgeon's Office of the concerned district.
According to the Department of Health, passengers wishing to travel abroad must submit a sample 72 hours before the start of the journey. At this time one have to give original passport and ticket. Everyone has to pay Tk 3500 for the sample test.
The collected samples will be tested in the government lab and will be reported 24 hours before departure.
The government has made the 'negative' certificate of Covid-19 test mandatory for air travel from Bangladesh.
