The detection rate of Covid-19 has decreased in the last 24 hours in Kushtia. One person has died within the period.
On the other hand, Mirpur municipal area of Mirpur upazila of the district has been brought under lockdown. This lockdown has been effective from today (Thursday).
According to information of RT-PCR lab of Kushtia Medical College, 274 samples have been tested there and 73 people have been identified as Covid-19 positive. The detection rate is 26.64 percent considering the test.
In the previous 24 hours, 239 samples were tested and 98 people were identified as Covid-19 positive; The detection rate was 41 percent.
On June 15, out of 193 sample tests, 71 people were identified as Covid-19 positive. The detection rate was 36.78 percent.
Kushtia General Hospital caretaker (Deputy Director) Abdul Momen confirmed this information.
He said one person had died in the last 24 hours in the corona unit of Kushtia General Hospital. The deceased was undergoing treatment at the Isolation Center in Kovid-19 there.
District Civil Surgeon Anwarul Islam in the morning said 89 people were admitted to the 50-bed corona unit of Kushtia General Hospital till Thursday morning. In the previous 24 hours there were 70; In the previous 24 hours, there were 64; In the previous 24 hours there were 71 people.
He said that so far there are 768 people in home isolation in the whole district. In the previous 24 hours it was 747 people. There were 682 in the previous 24 hours;
So far, a total of 5,907 corona have been identified in Kushtia. 137 people died.
Lockdown ///
Meanwhile, Mirpur municipal area of Mirpur upazila of the district has been brought under lockdown. Currently, lockdown is going on in Kushtia Municipality and its surrounding areas.
Kushtia Mirpur Municipality Mayor Enamul Haque Malitha said strict restrictions have been imposed for a week. The decision to impose strict control was taken at a meeting of Mirpur Upazila Coronavirus Prevention Committee on Wednesday (June 16) evening.
Mirpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Lincoln Biswas said a decision has been taken to close all shops in the Mirpur municipality area except the raw market and drug stores till June 23. At the same time, strict instructions have been given to abide by the self-rule.
A total of 3207 samples have been tested in Mirpur Upazila so far and a total of 407 corona have been identified.
A total of 15 people died in the upazila. There are 119 people in home isolation. This is the second of 6 upazila wise in the district.
