Two more people have died in the last 24 hours in Kushtia. They tested positive for Covid-19 and were undergoing treatment at isolation center of Kushtia General Hospital.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 identities in the district is increasing, said the district civil surgeon Anwarul Islam on Tuesday morning.

According to the RT-PCR lab of Kushtia Medical College, 293 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours. Of these, 91 people have been identified as Covid-19 positive.

Considering the test, the detection rate is 31.05 percent.

In the previous 24 hours, out of 193 sample tests, 61 people were identified as Covid-19 positive. The detection rate was 36.6 percent.

Kushtia General Hospital Superintendent (Deputy Director) Dr. Abdul Momen said the number of infections and patient admissions in Kushtia is on rise.

As of this morning, 64 corona patients have been admitted in the 50-bed corona unit of Kushtia General Hospital.

There were 61 people in the previous 24 hours. So far, 682 people are in home isolation. The previous day this number was 572 people, in the previous 24 hours it was 519 people.

So far, a total of 5,736 corona patients have been identified in Kushtia. Of them132 people died.
Kushtia municipality and its adjoining areas are leading in the total number of victims. The total number in this areas is 3435. Total 77 people died in this area alone.

Currently, lockdown is going on in the municipality and its surrounding areas.
