Corona infection in Kushtia has started increasing again. After breaking of handsome days, the disease has seen in sudden risen in the district.

Eleven new patients were infected in one day on March 12. Of these, 8 are in Kushtia Sadar and the remaining three are in Khoksa upazila.

Meanwhile, in the last seven days, 17 new cases of corona virus have been reported on the Kushtia Deputy Commissioner's Facebook page. There is, however, no information on March 6 and 8.

The test at PCR lab of Kushtia Medical College has detected 11 patients out 48 in Kushtia on March 12.

This is big amount of patients after a long days in the district.

So far, the total number of corona positive patients in Kushtia is 3916, out of which a total of 3804 people have recovered. A total of 89 people have died during this period.

In Kushtia, 55,270 people have been vaccinated with the first dose till March 12.

Health experts believe that there is a constant lack of corona awareness among the people in Kushtia. It was predicted that the new wave of corona would increase.

The Residential Medical Officer of Kushtia General Hospital Dr Tapas Kumar Sarkar said the government had not given any information that Corona had been eradicated. Instead, government has told to follow the rules to survive against Corona.

“But our experience says, people in the district specially town dwellers did not follow the rules,” doctor Sarkar said.
