Corona (Covid-19) is growing in Kushtia with steady peace. Almost every day multiple corona patients are being identified in here. All quarters are concerned about this. Many question why the disease increased in the district. The district was in a fairly safe position from the start. While there rumours about this, the district administration, police administration and health department are now working on the red zone declared by the government in the district. Talking to the policy implementers of these department, it is learned that they are also relying on the issue of strict control in the areas declared as red zones. They said if the areas marked in the red zone are declared public holidays and the lockdown is fully implemented, the infection will be reduced.

A total of 27 people have been infected by corona in the last 24 hours in Kushtia. This is the information of PCR lab of Kushtia Medical College on 23 June. The total number of victims by the virus in the district stood at 461.

The public health experts said if strict hygiene rules are enforced, the number of new cases will be greatly reduced. They say that if the lockdown can be fully implemented in the red-marked areas at the present time with normal leave, then this peak time can be obtained before 10 more days. As a result, the infection will continue to decline in August. They say the peak depends on how the infection is being prevented. In that case, the more tests that can be done, the more people can be diagnosed with corona. The number of new infections will also decrease if the identified people can be kept in isolation at home. And success will come.

Tapas Kumar Sarkar, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Kushtia General Hospital, said their advice from the beginning was to strictly control the movement of people. In particular, keeping people at home and closing public access to Kushtia from outside the district. The district administration and the police were doing the same. The intersection occurs in the middle when opened everything. As a result, a lot goes out of control.

Dr. Tapas has been working with Corona since the very beginning of the Corona crisis. This public health expert has a lot of data.

He said they have been receiving patients with corona symptoms since May 20, five days after the town was reopened. After May 25, they can understand what happened. At that time, he also published in various media that there could be a disaster in Kushtia in June, he said.

Dr Tapas said the fact that there were so many patients in the red zone meant that there were many more. They have to be kept in their respective places. Then they will live as themselves, others will be safe. He also called for the implementation of the Red Zone, even if it shows austerity if necessary.

Kushtia Superintendent of Police SM Tanvir Arafath PPM (Bar) spoke on the issue. He expressed great excitement about this. He is very frustrated, especially with the tendency of people to obey the law. He said people will survive first and then do other else.

But he said police in the district have found that some people have a tendency to make a living, not a life. Due to which they did not want to follow any rules. But men will have to survive on his own.

He questioned what they would say now against the police, against the mobile court, who had revolted that day. Are they still out or are they at home? He said the job of the police is the most difficult at the moment. Numerous police have been attacked. The police administration is working in the midst of the disease. He said the police would work for the needs of the state.

He urged everyone to abide by the rules.

Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Aslam Hossain, who has been relentlessly working in the district to deal with Corona from the very beginning, also expressed frustration at the low tendency of the people of the district to abide by the law. The chief district official of the government administration said he had deployed all the mechanisms of his administration behind this Corona check.

He did not always hesitate to give the best service to the people of the district. He ran from one end of the district to the other. But he said he was a little uncomfortable at the last stage that there was no such awareness among the people.

He said that where no one knows who is affected and who is not, only distance from each other can keep everyone safe.

He said if you want to live, you have to follow the rules. The administration is ready to do its utmost but the people have to receive it. How much law can be enforced?
The Deputy Commissioner himself was attacked by Corona at one stage. He is now healthy and has returned to work. He also spoke about the activities of the administration in the current Red Zone. He urged everyone to abide by the rules.

On last Tuesday (June 23) 6 areas of four districts of the country were declared red zones. Earlier, the Ministry of Public Administration declared 26 areas of 10 districts as red zones at midnight on June 21 and 12 areas of five districts as red zones the next day.
