Education Minister Dipu Moni said all normal activities are being hampered by the ongoing global crisis in Corona. The government is trying to figure out how to move the education system forward during this time.
She said some possibilities are also found in many crises. At present, there is an opportunity to take the education system forward through the use of information technology. We have to use it.
The Education Minister further said that we have to go for online education system at some point - we had that idea and we were also preparing for that goal.
As the world moves towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it has become imperative for us to acquire these special skills.
She said however, due to the sudden corona situation, the educational institutions have to be closed and we have to start now what we wanted to do in the next few years.
She was speaking at the inauguration of a systematic and technical training initiative to provide free online classes to 10,000 primary and secondary level teachers in the country on Saturday.
CoderTrust, an international technology training organization, will provide this training. Ten thousand trainee teachers have already completed their registration process.
Former Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Abdul Karim, former Secretary of Education Nazrul Islam Khan, Director General of the Department of Primary Education, Fasiullah, Aziz Ahmed, co-founder of CoderTrust and founder of UTC Associates, joined From the United States.
Country Director of CoderTrust Bangladesh Brigadier General (Retd) Abdul Halim, Advisor to CoderTrust Bangladesh, Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Editor of Shiksha.com and Ataul Gani Osmani, also were present.
Shiksha.com is working as a supportive organization for the implementation of the training program.
On the first day after the inauguration, 150 teachers were trained in three batches.
