At least 11 people, including member of a union Parishad were injured in clash took place at an arbitration meeting in Sheyala village of Kushtia’s Daulatpur upazila today (Friday).

The injured were admitted to Kushtia General Hospital.

According to the locals, a man named Zafar Hossain of Sheyala village took money from another man named Palash saying that he would get him a job. But Palash failed to fulfil his commitment.

An arbitration meeting was held on Friday around 11:am through UP member Rintu Hossain over the non-payment of the money.

At one stage of the conversation, the people of Palash attacked the other side including the UP member and the people of the two sides got involved in a clash.

A total of 11 people, including Rintu, were injured in the attack. Locals rescued them and took them to Kushtia General Hospital. There is tension in the village.

Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station Zahurul Alam said police had been deployed after the incident.

If any complaint is received, legal action will be taken after investigation, OC said.
