Bangladesh-India train service resumes after two years

Bangladesh-India train service has resumed after more than two years of closing due coronavirus epidemic. The Maitree Express has started its Dhaka to Kolkata from Sunday. On the first day, the train left Dhaka with 165 passengers.
On the first day, the number of passengers of the train was less than half. However, after a long break, the passengers on the train to India are happy.
The Director General of Bangladesh Railway said the train will run five days a week.
He said that after the outbreak of corona infection in the country, passenger transport was stopped from March 15, 2020.
The train will reach Darshana station in the border district of Chuadanga directly from here Dhaka. The train will cross the border at 2 pm and return to Kolkata. The train will stop at Chitpur station in Kolkata at 4 pm Indian time regularly.
Similarly, the return train from Chitpur station will leave for Dhaka at 8:10 am Indian time on Monday. It will cross the border at 10:10 am Bangladesh time and reach Darshana station. From there it will leave for Dhaka at 10:30 am.
