The Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed at Kushtia Islamic University IU) with rally and discussion meeting.
On the occasion of the day, a rally was held in the campus. The rally encircled the main roads of the campus and gathered at the Mrityunjai Mujib Mural square.
At the end of the rally, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shaikh Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, Treasurer Professor Dr. Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan and Registrar (Acting) H. M. Ali Hasan placed wreath on the mural.
Various organizations including University Teachers Association, Islamic University Bangabandhu Parishad, and Bangladesh Chhatra League Islamic University unit also paid tribute.
Prayers are also offered for the peace of Bangabandhu's soul.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shaikh Abdus Salam told that Bangabandhu's return to his homeland after winning the war was another victory of war. Bangabandhu had to stay in Pakistani jails for the entire duration of the War of Independence. It was a very uncomfortable event also apprehension and fear.
He said that history cannot be made, history is created historically. Winning the war was the main message of Bangabandhu's release of jail .
The Vice Chancellor urged everyone to move forward together to build the Bangladesh of the future.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahbubur Rahman spoke at the meeting.
He mentions that the liberation of Bangladesh is on the path indicated by Bangandhu. He said Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina continues to implement Bangabandhu's philosophy and thoughts.
Treasurer Professor Dr. Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan said, Bangabandhu created a development model of the country in a very short period of time. But he was not allowed to implement it.
Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina is working to realize that dream of Bangabandhu.
The student advisor also convenor of the committee to observe the Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day Professor Dr. Shelina Nasreen also spoke.
