Bangladesh Army has requested the mass people to comply with the curfew. They also sought for full cooperation.
This call was made in a circular of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The circular said, an indefinite curfew has been issued from Sunday over the deterioration of the ongoing law and order situation in the country. This decision has been taken to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the important installations of the state.
The notification also mentions that the Bangladesh Army will carry on its duties under the constitution and existing laws of the country.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said legal action will be taken against those who violate the curfew and zero tolerance will be shown.
He said that the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has so far shown great patience, tolerance and sensitivity.
Our action is not against any agitating student. Our action is against vandals, terrorists, arsonists and against killers of police. They will not be exempted at all. Dhaka Metropolitan Police will be forced to use maximum powers of law against them. Dhaka residents are requested not to leave their homes unnecessarily during the curfew.
He said these things in a press conference organized at DMP media center at 10:30 pm on Sunday.
