A robbery took place at the house of Bishu Pal, a businessman of Janipur market, near the municipal land office of Khoksa upazila of Kushtia today (Sunday). The robbers looted various belongings, which includes gold ornaments and cash, at gunpoint. The incident took place within 1200 meters of Thoksa police station.
Khoksa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Mustafa Habibullah, confirmed that the incident took place.
Bishu Pal said that a group of robbers of 10/12 people entered the house by breaking the latch of the door at around 2:30 am. They were all wearing masks. The robbers took all the family members hostage at gunpoint, broke the lockers and cupboards, and stole seven loads of gold, two and a half lakh taka in cash, mobile sets and other valuables things.
Bishu Pal said that he informed the Khoksa police station at night. In the early morning, a police patrol team and the police station officer came to the spot.
The OC said that till now no case has been filed in the police station. He said that the Police are still investigating.
