The feasibility study of setting up another new private university in Kushtia is underway. The university will be named after Baul king Fakir Lalon Shah.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has been requested to justify possibility for the university and send a report to the Ministry of Education with a clear opinion.

Mrs. Fauzia Alam has been the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lalon University of Science and Arts.
