The age limit for taking coronavirus vaccine has been further reduced. Now the government Surokkha app is open for 25-year-olds to register for the vaccine. From August 7, those aged 18 and above will also be able to register for the vaccine.

The registration for those aged 18 or over will start on August 7.

If anyone has a national identity card, can register in online. Those who do not have NID have to take the certificate of the mayor of the concerned area, upazila parishad or chairman of the union parishad. Moreover, one will be able to take the vaccine directly at the relevant immunization center.

Earlier, Health Minister Zahid Malek had told that the government was thinking of raising the age limit for vaccination to 18 years.

On July 15, he said, the National Technical Advisory Committee had recommended raising the registration age for vaccines to 18 years.
