Adopt economic diplomacy, PM urges to the Bangladeshi diplomats

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed to adopt the economic diplomacy policy in an aim to build country’s economy on a strong base. She made it at the regional ambassadors’ conference in Qatar on Monday (March 6) evening. The conference was attended by Bangladeshi diplomats stationed in Middle East countries.
She urged to take this step to maintain the country’s status as a developing country by increasing trade and exports.
Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh is going to graduate as a developing country. That is why it is necessary to pay attention to those countries, where Bangladesh can increase trade and profit as a developing country.
Sheikh Hasina said that diplomacy was once a political issue. But now it is an economic matter, meaning economic diplomacy. So those who are working in different countries need to identify those countries, where we can trade and do business. At the same time, the countries where we have the opportunity to export our products and the countries from which we can import products at low and fair prices. The most important thing is to increase trade and commerce, it is very necessary.
The Prime Minister said that Bangladesh will maintain friendly relations with all. But when any injustice is seen, Bangladesh will definitely say to maintain friendly relations, which is being said to Myanmar.

The Prime Minister is now in Qatar to attend the Fifth United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries. He arrived in Qatar last Saturday at the invitation of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
