A teacher of a residential Qawmi Madrasa in Kushtia’s Mirpur upazila has been accused of raping a student. Police have arrested the accused teacher.
The victim's father has filed a rape case with Mirpur police station. The medical test of the victim has been conducted where rape evidence found, Kushtia Superintendent of Police SM Tanvir Arafat confirmed.
“We arrest the rapist after physician carried medical test of the victim confirmed on rape evidence,” SP said.
Officer-in-charge of Mirpur Police Station Abul Kalam said the incident took place at Sirajul Islam Darul Uloom Maryam Nesha Women Madrasa in Poradaha of Mirpur upazila.
According to the case, teacher Abdul Quader called the resident student of Nahabila (VIII) class to his office room at 8 am on Saturday and raped her. The teacher raped the girl again in the night time.
The teacher threatened the girl not to disclose the matter. But the girl revealed the matter to her another mate on Monday.
When the incident became spread, the agitated people of the area vandalized the madrasa on Monday evening.
There were 30/35 students in that madrasa. All the students left the madrasa after the incident. The teacher also fled the scene.
Police arrested the alleged rapist teacher Quader at about 9.30:pm on Monday from hideout of the upazila.
