The High Court has revoked the bail of a man in Chuadanga who was granted bail by the High Court on false information. The High Court will issue an order next Monday.
Sources said Abdus Sattar, son of Nizam Uddin of Kayetpara village of Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga was arrested on May 2, 2016 with one shooter gun and bullets.
Sub-Inspector of Alamdanga Police Station Sufal Kumar Biswas filed a case under the Arms Act in the name of Abdus Sattar the next day. On July 8 of that year, the investigating officer filed a charge sheet against. In On October 31 of that year, the court sentenced Sattar to 16 years under two sections of the Arms Act.
But after reversing the lower court’s verdict, Sattar appealed to the High Court seeking bail, citing the issue of rescuing ‘Chinese axes’ instead of weapons. The High Court accepted the appeal for hearing and granted him one year bail.
But his lawyer brought the matter to the notice of the court due to suspicion. A High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Mostafizur Rahman withdrew bail on Monday (September 21) also fixed Monday for the order.
