Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Aslam Hossain told that the internet services should be provided in accordance with the guidelines set by the government and the rules announced at different times. He said the business must be done legally. No business can be done illegally.
Internet service providing is an important job. The ISP representatives have a big role to play in the formation of Digital Bangladesh declared by the government, the Deputy Commissioner said, mentioning that the right service has to be ensured so that people can get net service without any suffering. The benefits of digital Bangladesh must be delivered to the doorsteps of the people.
He said in the context of the current reality of the country, online classes are now running in educational institutions. Net service should be ensured in those places.
The deputy commissioner made the remarks at an view sharing meeting with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Kushtia district in his conference room on Monday (September 8th).
According to the ISP representatives, there are about 10 institutions in the district which are providing services under the license of the government. However, Cable line providers have already put their hands on it. They have started providing services internet without any rules and regulations.
The deputy commissioner said those who are doing business legally, following rules, can form an organization if they wish. According to the government rules, the local administration can look into the matter.
Sources said a large number of service providers have sprung up in different parts of the district who are providing services as per their wishes without following the rules and regulations laid down by the government. Taking price but not giving proper service.
