The Chief Justice has formed two benches for Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. The benches will work from Sunday using information technology only through virtual presence. The Supreme Court administration issued a notification in this regard on Thursday (September 3).
According to the notification, the Court-1 will be led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud. Hasan Justice Hasan Foyez Siddiqui, Justice Md. Nuruzzaman and Justice Obaidul Hasan would sit with him until further orders.
A virtual court comprising Justice Mirza Hossain Haider, Justice Abu Bakar Siddiqui and Justice Tariq ul Hakim will be conducted in Court No. 2 led by Justice Mohammad Iman Ali.
There were two benches in the Appellate Division last March 11 before the epidemic Corona period. The recess of the Supreme Court started from March 13. The general holiday was declared from March 26. Subsequently, the proceedings of the Appellate Division began on a virtual bench from 13 July.
