BSF returned back Bangladeshi’s body killed 15 days ago

The Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) has returned the body of a Bangladeshi citizen who was killed 15 days ago by them.
Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) received the body at a flag meeting held at No-man’s-land adjacent to the border pillar no 75/10 (S) at Mahishkundi border in Daulatpur upazila in Kushtia on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kashem, 35, son of Abdur Rahman of Challishpara border area of Ramkrishnapur union in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia.
Subedar Delwar Hossain, commander of Mahishkundi Company of 47th BGB Battalion, told The Daily Star that Abul Kashem was killed at around 9:30 pm on August 14 in the Indian side of the border at Ramkrishnapur Union in Daulatpur Upazila.
“BSF claimed that Kashem had entered into Indian territory illegally when the BSF opened fire on him at Majdiar of Jalangi police station,” the BGB officer told quoting Balram Singh, commander of Jalangi BSF camp in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district who led the flag meeting in favour of BSF.
Officer-In-charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station Nishikanta Roy was present at the flag meeting.
The slain Abul Kashem’s brother Abul Hossain Mithu said his brother was a cattle trader. On the day of the incident, he went to the border and was killed by the BSF.
