The ongoing holiday of the educational institution has been extended till August 31 considering many options in view. All educational institutions in the country will be closed. On Wednesday (July 29), the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and the Ministry of Education jointly announced the new date for the holiday.
Education Minister Dipu Moni made the decision in an online meeting. This information has been given in a notification signed by Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Education Abul Khair.
Earlier, holiday was announced in the educational institution till August 8. The vaction got extension as the Corona situation is not normal so far.
Sources said work has been started to shorten the syllabus in preparation for the opening of the educational institution in September. It has been informed that the syllabus will be revised keeping in view the issue of acquiring knowledge according to the age and class of the students.
All the educational institutions in the country have been closed for four months due to Corona. Holidays have already been announced in all educational institutions till August 8. As the Eid-ul-Azha holiday started from July 31, it was announced to extend the holiday. Besides, the HSC examination was scheduled to be held in March this year but it could not be started due to corona.
Although PEC-Ibtedai and JSC-JDC examinations are scheduled to be held in November, these examinations may be postponed and held in December. Educational institutions are not opening soon as coronavirus infections and deaths continue. If the Corona situation is not somewhat normal, there are alternative options to extend the academic year by two months if it cannot open in September.
