Barrister Selim Altaf George, lawmaker of Kushtia-4 constituency has inaugurated the programme of dumping geo bags in the area affected by the erosion of Gorai River in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia.
He inaugurated the work on Tuesday (July 28) at noon by dropping a geo bag to prevent erosion in the eroded area of Chandat village near Gorai in Betbaria union of the upazila.
The cost of Tk 29.48 lakh will be spent for the work.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mezbah Uddin, Upazila Awami League President Babul Akhter, Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary Al Masum Murshed Shanto, Water Development Board Officer Arif Hossain (Rajbari Office) and Upazila Project Implementation Officer Muninul Haque were present.
