India gifts 10 broad gauge locomotives to Bangladesh

The 10 broad gauge locomotives given as Eid gift to Bangladesh by India have arrived at Darshana International Railway Station on Monday (July 26) through the Darshana- Joynagar check post area in Chuadanga.
The handover of the locomotives was completed through video conferencing between the Railway Minister and the Foreign Minister of the two countries.
The locomotives were received by Kudrat E Khoda, Chief Mechanical Engineer of Bangladesh Railway. Ashok Kumar Biswas Railway Traffic Inspector was represented by India.
Railway officials said the locomotives have been taken to Parbatipur and Ishwardi railway junction.
Additional Director General (RS) of Rail Bhaban Dhaka Manzur-ul Alam Chowdhury, General Manager of West Rajshahi Railway Mihir Kanti, Chief Engineer of West Rajshahi Railway Al Fatta Masudur Rahman, Member of Parliament for Chuadanga-2 constituency Ali Azgar were present at Darshana International Railway Station while receiving the locomotives. Deputy Commissioner Nazrul Islam Sarkar, Superintendent of Police Zahidul Islam, Damurhuda Upazila Chairman Ali Munshur Babu, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Dilara Rahman, Superintendent of Darshana International Railway Station Mir Liaquat Ali and others.
