Police on Monday night arrested Khorshed Alam Mamun, the ke accused in the Billal murder case, who was killed in a clash between two factions of ruling Awami League on July 8 at Sandiyara village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.
A team from Kumarkhali police station led by Sub-Inspector Hasan who is also the investigating officers of the case arrested Mamun from a hideout at residential area in Sector 7 of Uttara in Dhaka.
He was brought to Kushtia on the night. He was produced before the Kushtia Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Tuesday (July 14th). The court sent him to jail.
Police arrested a total of 12 accused in the incident. All of them are in jail now.
Officer-In-Charge (O) of Kumarkhali Police Station Mojibur Rahman both factions filed two separate cases and the police have filed one more case.
