The death toll in Covid-19 (Corona) 10 districts of Khulna Division stood at 100. On the other hand, the number of patients has increased to 5751.
Assistant Director (Administration) of Khulna Divisional Health Department Manjurul Murshid gave this information on Tuesday.
A man came from Italy was detected in Chuadanga on March 19. This was the first Corona incident in Khulna division. Then another was identified on March 21 in Kushtia. However, the person, a bank official identified in Kushtia was not from Kushtia. He was infected from Shariatpur and came to Kushtia.
Information, as given by the department, there is no other district near Khulna in the division between the two indicators of infection and death. Out of the total 5,751 infected people, 2,612 are from Khulna district. Which is about 46 percent of the total patients in the division. Besides, 202 people were infected with coronavirus in Bagerhat, 248 in Satkhira, 755 in Jessore, 319 in Jhenaidah, 169 in Magura, 305 in Narail, 789 in Kushtia, 258 in Chuadanga and 94 in Meherpur.
So far 100 Covid-19 patients have died in the division. Of these, 38 are from Khulna. Apart from this, 13 people died in Jessore, 15 in Kushtia, 7 in Narail, 6 in Magura, 5 in Meherpur and Jhenaidah, 4 in Satkhira and Bagerhat and 3 in Chuadanga. Khulna accounted for 36 percent of the total deaths in the department.
Meanwhile, the health department officials are fearing that the number of corona cases will increase in the entire division.
Specially Khulna, Kushtia and Jessore are in worst form on this list. The reason for the increase in infections in these districts is being blamed on the disregard of rules and regulations.
