Bangladesh had no place in the Top 100 ranking of the best Universities in Asia, a ranking conducted by the London-based educational and research organization, QS. In the raking, there are 7 Universities of India and 2 Universities of Pakistan. However, in the ranking of the Top 500 Universities in Asia, there are 2 Universities in Bangladesh. In that list, India had 41 Universities while Pakistan had 11.
BUET is the second-best university in the country from the 187th position and the third North South University from the 191st position in the list. And, as the best university in Bangladesh, the University of Dhaka got the first place in Bangladesh from the 140th position.
The organization published the regional university ranking on Wednesday, including 856 universities in Asia with academic reputations.
The top three universities in Asia in this year’s list are Peking University in China, The University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong and National University (NUS) of Singapore in Singapore respectively.
Other universities in Bangladesh ranked in the top 500 list are BRAC University (281-290), Duet of Gazipur (351-400), Jahangirnagar University (351-400), Daffodil University (401-450), Shahjalal University of Engineering and Technology (451 -500), East West University (451-500), IUT (541-500) and Rajshahi University (451-500).
