Classroom activities whatsoever of secondary-level educational institutions across Bangladesh will remain shut on Thursday due to the constant heatwaves.
On Wednesday, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education issued a notice in this concern.
“Due to the aforementioned heatwave, it has been decided to suspend class activities for all secondary-level educational institutions in the country on Jun 8,” the notice said.
“All concerned are requested to implement this decision,” the notice also said.
The current severe heatwaves across the country may continue for another 5-6 days, the Secondary and Higher Education Division said in the same notice on Wednesday, citing the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
On June 5, in a DSHE notice, classroom activities at the primary level involved with all government and non-government secondary schools across Bangladesh were declared to be closed till June 8 for the same cause.
