Six gets life term in a murder case in Kushtia

A court sentenced 6 people including a former elected union parishad member to life imprisonment in a murder case in Kushtia.
Kushtia Additional District and Sessions Judge Tajul Islam gave the verdict on Thursday.
The murder happened in Panti village of Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia in 2012.
According to court sources, the accused chopped to kill Abdur Razzaq’s son Abdullah Al Manju (17). The incident happened near the victim’s house at around 8 am on April 13, 2012. The deceased’s father filed a murder case against the accused at Kumarkhali police station on same day.
Abdullah Al Manju was a madrasah student.
After the investigation, investigating officer (IO) of the case Sub-Inspector Nasir Uddin submitted report to the court against the accused on April 30, 2015.
The convicts are Abdul Matleb Ali son of Abdullah of Panti village of Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia, Rubel son of Badsha Ali, Kashem son of deceased Mokhed Ali, Ruhul Amin son of deceased Fakir Chand, Nazrul and Farid son of Afsar Ali. Ruhul Amin is a former member of Panti Union.
Five convicts were present in the court when the verdict was announced. Convicted ruble is absconding.
In the verdict, the court fined a fine of Tk 20,000 on each of them, in default of which they were sentenced to one more year in prison.
