Chief Justice of Bangladesh Hasan Foyez Siddiqui said honesty, hardworking and gratitude to the Almighty are the keys to success in life. There is no shortcut to success in life except persistence and hard work.

Chief Justice said this at a ‘Success Story’ event arranged in courtesy of him at Ramanathpur School and College in Khoksa Upazila in Kushtia on December 31. The institution organised the event. He also answered several questions of the students there.

Addressing the students, he told that you are now getting many facilities including schools and colleges near your home to study. But our time was not like that, we had to walk barefoot on the hot sand of Garai River to go to school. In our time teachers were much stricter. They ruled a lot.

That time was probably very good.

He says you have to be humane. He said life is run depending each other. He said help of someone else is needed. Again in the same way others have to help. It is this mutual sense of humanity that keeps life moving forward.

He said that almost the same thing has been said in all religions that one should always be grateful to the creator.

He said being a man of money and being a real man is not the same thing.

He highlighted his life story and said that “We are people born in a middle class family. Had to struggle a lot in life. He said to grow in life, he also did business after SSC examination. This was in addition to studies.

He told that with the help of everyone in the area, he built a library called Khyeli Jubo Sangsad where everyone including the elderly of the area used to read books.
He said to the students that “You should reduce your passion for mobile phones and read books. If you don’t study hard you will fall behind. There are many good things in mobile that must be accepted. Failures and problems temporary defeats give mental strength to succeed in life.

He told that in his life he got a government job a few days after being enrolled as an advocate. At that time, on the advice of his late maternal uncle barrister Abdul Hamid, he started practicing law instead of doing government service.
“Not being able to join the job at that time felt bad but it brought good in my life. After that I became the Deputy Attorney General and after that I became a judge. I took a temporary break but I did not break down. By God’s grace, I became a judge again.

He said success in life depends a lot on being able to take a right decision.

The President of Ramnathpur School and College Governing Body, prominent writer and researcher Dr. Amanur Aman in the chair, Kushtia District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Md. Abu Taher and Kushtia Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Saidul Islam were present as guest of honour. Golam Mostafa Kamal, Principal of Ramnathpur School and College gave the welcome speech.
Judge of Kushtia Women and Children Court Habibur Rahman, Special District Judge Ashraful Islam, Additional Registrar to High Court Division Tofail Hossain Rupak, Khoksa Upazila Executive Officer Ripon Biswas, Upazila Education Officer Nazmul Haque and others were also present in the event.
