State Minister for Power, energy and mineral resource Nasrul Hamid has given good news for the electricity consumers of Ozopadiko electricity distribution area in Kushtia.
On Thursday (September 8), he said on his verified Facebook page that in order to increase the capacity of power distribution system, the capacity of Kushtia Majampur substation has been increased and doubled.
The minister wrote on his Facebook page:
In addition to launching the Padma bridge in the country, taking into consideration the issues of industrialization and socio-economic development, Ozopadiko took the initiative to construct 64 sub-stations through the expansion and up gradation project of the electricity distribution system in 21 districts. In continuation of that today 8 (September) 33/11 KV 2*10/13.33 MVA substation capacity was increased to 2*20/26.66 MVA substation in Kushtia’s housing area. All equipments supported by SCAD including substation automation system (SAS) are used in the substation.
This enhanced capacity of the advanced and modern technology substation will create an opportunity to provide reliable, statistical quality, uninterrupted power supply to the esteemed customers of Kushtia city. Using modern technology will also increase transparency and accountability.
