A day-long seminar titled ‘Students, Media Workers and Civil Society Actions to Prevent Extremism’ was held recently.
The seminar was held under the project of Bangladesh Police’s Anti-Terrorism and International Crime Prevention Center Construction at DESHA Training and Research Center
Rahmat Ullah Chowdhury, Additional Superintendent of Police, Counter Terrorism Department, presented the keynote.
Presided over by Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Crime) in Kushtia Mostafizur Rahman, the event was addressed among others by, Principal of Police Line School and College Nazmul Arefin, President of Kushtia Press Club Al Mamun Sagar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Rajibul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) Farhad Hossain Khan.
The speakers focused on the movement of the children, use internet in and outside of the home. They also emphasised on inform the local police about the identity of any new strangers in the areas concerned, provide proper religious education by the Imam and Moulanas.
