High Court directs to display transport fares in bus stands

The High Court has directed to display the list of public transport fares in visible places of all bus and minibus stands across the country.
Besides, the court asked the BRTA, appropriate authority, to take action against collecting extra rent. The directives has to implement within the next one month.
A bench of the High Court comprising Justice Mamunur Rahman and Khandaker Diliruzzaman passed the order on Monday (January 24).
The BRTA has been directed that the fare list has to display in public places where passengers can easily see it.
Section 34 (3) of the Road Transport Act, 2018 states that no public transport can transport passengers without displaying fare chart in a visible place. And according to section 34 (4), the owner, driver, conductor, person or organization of any public transport shall not be able to claim or collect additional fare as prescribed under sub-section (2).
