Five cubs of endangered wild cat species have been rescued from Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.
Two of them were released in the forest yesterday.
Three others will be released after a few days as they are too small to be left on their own, sources at Kushtia Forest Department said.
Local activists of Bangladesh Biodiversity Conservation Federation (BBCF) along with forest department officials released the cubs.
Sources said that on the night of January 8, locals spotted the cubs at Shalghar Madhua village in Bashgram area and caught them. After catching, they were rearing and finally informed to the BBCF.
Later, BBCF rescued them.
