The government has decided to form committee headed by elected representatives at the union and ward level to take necessary steps including creating public awareness at the field level against coronavirus.

The committee will work to create health awareness among the people, provide medical advice and assistance, motivate and assist in providing vaccines.

The decision was taken at a zoom meeting on Saturday to take necessary steps to create public awareness at the field level to prevent and deal with the second wave of corona in the Ministry of Health.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek was present as the chief guest at the meeting.

The proposed committee will include headmasters of various educational institutions, political leaders, health, youth, agriculture, field officials of Ansar VDP, imams of mosques, NGO representatives, leaders of hat-bazaar associations and others concerned.

The meeting also called upon the media to conduct more publicity activities on the various causes of the spread of corona and the need to take precautions against the elderly and people at risk due to various diseases.
