Renowned writer and researcher Dr. Amanur Aman has been nominated as the president of the governing body of Ramanathpur School and College in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia.
The Jahore Board Authority approved the Governing Body as per the Governing Body Regulations-2009 on the recommendation of Barrister Selim Altaf George, lawmaker of Kusahtia-4 also Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League.
The other members of the Governing Body are Abu Dawood, Teacher Member (Gen) Muktar Hossain (Guardian Member) and Member-Secretary Mostafa Kamal, Principal, Ramanathpur School and College
Meanwhile, for this nomination Dr. Aman has expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Barrister Selim Altaf George. At the same time, he expressed his determination to play his role in development of education of the areas. In another message, Ramanathpur School and College authorities also thanked to MP Barrister Selim Altaf George for his earnest recommendation to form the governing body for the intuition.
Dr. Amanur Aman /
Amanur Aman deserves a lot of credit for his divers of qualities in different arenas. He is simultaneously a researcher, writer, poet and columnist. He also holds huge talent in the field of journalistic works. He is also working in various fields of politics, socio-economic development, art-literature and culture. He mainly is a researcher. The language of his research is English; Research topics include society, politics, development, good governance, leadership, women’s empowerment and local government systems.
Dr. Aman was born in Ramanathpur village of Osmanpur union in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia district.
Education/ /
Dr. Aman passed SSC from the Osmanpur High School of Osmanpur union; HSC from Khoksa Government College. He holds a Masters degree with Honors from the Department of Public Administration, Islamic University. He obtained his M.Phil. (Master of Philosophy) degree from the Department of Public Administration, Islamic University in 2007. He conducted his PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) degree in 2011 from the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling, India.

Dr. Aman has written total 28 books. Of those, number of research books-14; In English. Number of books written in Bengali-9; There are other books. Dr. Aman’s articles and research articles amount to more than one and a half hundred.
Journalism /
In journalism, Amanur Aman has a colorful and expansive career; In 1991, while studying in college, he made his debut as a local correspondent for the now defunct national daily Bhor. Later, after entering the university, he joined the national daily Ajker Kagoj as university correspondent and later he was appointed as the Kushtia district correspondent of the newspaper.
During student life, Aman started working as the news editor of the local daily Dainik Kushtia. During this time he worked as the Kushtia district correspondent of the national daily Sangbad for two years. He has also written regular columns for Khoborer Kagoj weekly Shikhyabicittra etc. During his student days, he started working for the vernacular English daily in the country The Daily Star.
He started his job as carrier in Islamic University in 2000 but continued his journalism.
Dr. Amanur Aman bought the ownership of the 30-year old traditional Bengali daily ‘Dainik Kushtia’ in 2010. In 2011, he started publishing the English weekly The Kushtia Times. He is currently the editor, publisher and owner of these two newspapers.
In addition, several of his writings have been published in international print media, including India, Sri Lanka, the United States and Canada in different timnes.
In journalism. Aman has participated in nearly a hundred training workshops at home and abroad. Aman has already been awarded in recognition of his journalism. He received a special award from The Daily Star. Aman was awarded the International Labour Organization (ILO) for writing and raising awareness about child labour in national and international level. His multiple reports on child labor have been published in several international print media and international research journals.
He was the general secretary of the Islamic University Press Club while studying at the university. He is one of the founders of the Islamic University Press Club.
Political and social activities /
Dr. Aman is involved in various social and political activities. He was the general secretary of the Saddam Hussein Hall unit Chhatra League while studying at Islamic University. He is currently joint general secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad Kushtia district unit and member of central committee of the organisation. He was involved in politics of Khoksa Upazila unit Awami League in Kushtia during his student life.
Dr. Aman has been working tirelessly in various developmental social activities. He has created and assisted in creation of numerous social, cultural and intellectual organizations in the district. He is an advisor to more than 40 of these social organizations. To accelerate social activities, he has formed ‘Sammilita Samajik Jote’ with like-minded social organizers. Dr. Aman is the chairman of this alliance. He is one of the executive board members of Kushtia Nagorik Committee (Citizen’s movement).
He was the General Secretary of Kushtia Unit of Apex Club of Bangladesh in the 2009-2010 session.
He is a life member of Bangladesh Bharat Maitri Samiti and joint-secretary of Kushtia district unit of the organization. He is also a life member / advisor of various governmental and non-governmental organizations, institutions and educational institutions of the district and has been involved in service activities in various capacities.
Dr. Aman is a renowned debater, debate judge and trainer. He is one of the advisors of national Debate Federation (NDF-BD) in Kushtia Zone.
Contribution to Education /
Aman launched a scholarship project in 2006 to help the poor students in education at the rural level. He founded the “Samsuddin Mollah Foundation” after the name of his father. He donated all the money from his research to the organization. The organization was approved in 2006 by the Department of Social Services, Government of Bangladesh. It is established in Ramanathpur village of Khoksa upazila. It is currently providing scholarship assistance to poor and meritorious students in the rural areas of the district. He is the founding executive director of the foundation.
In 2016, Dr. Aman along with some of his partners set up an educational institution called ‘Kushtia Public School’ in Kushtia. At present the institute is unique in children’s education in Kushtia. He is the founding chairman of the organization.
Career/
Dr. Aman is currently a senior official at Islamic University.
