Kushtia/Restriction extended till July 1

The Kushtia district administration has extended restrictions further. Now it will be continued till July 1.

The restrictions on movement and activities in Kushtia district first imposed on June 6 midnight to till June 16 midnight to check transmission of Covid-19. This was extended for another 10 days till June 27.

After ending that the new third time restriction has been imposed from today (Monday).

The decision was made by the district’s Covid-19 prevention committee in light of the advisories made by the Cabinet Division yesterday, according to a notification issued by Kushtia deputy commissioner’s office yesterday.

As per the restrictions imposed, shops and malls are allowed to remain open from 10:00am till 8:00pm by maintaining strict health safety measures.

Food shops, hotels, restaurants, kitchen markets, and all wholesale and retail marketplaces must shut down by 8:00pm every day. Shops, hotels and restaurants are allowed to sell food only through online or takeaway services. Local tea shops must shut down by 7:00pm.

No social gatherings such as weddings, birthday celebrations, picnics etc. along with political and religious gatherings will be allowed during this period. All tourist spots, resorts, community centres and recreational venues will remain closed.

Law enforcement agencies, emergency service providers, such as transport for agricultural equipment, food grains and products, relief distribution, healthcare, print and electronic media, and all departments/agencies involved in the government’s revenue generating activities will remain out of purview of the restrictions.

All public transports, including inter-district ones, must maintain strict health safety measures and operate at half capacity. Passengers must wear masks and follow safety measures.

Factories and industrial plants will continue to operate under self-management as previously. However, they must maintain health safety measures strictly and provide transportation facilities to workers.

Legal steps will be taken against any entity if the measures are not followed, the notification added.

Meanwhile, Kushtia is experiencing a number of death and infections of Covid-19.

More four people have died and 172 people infected in last 24 hours.

Total death toll has risen in the district into 189 while total infection stood 6357.

In development, the Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital has been declared Corona Dedicated. Now only corona patients have been given treatment there.
