The number of corona cases in Kushtia has been increasing in the last few days after Eid.

Experts warn the situation could become more troublesome. This is because the severity of corona is more prevalent among the suddenly affected people in the district.

According to the Kushtia Civil Surgeon’s Office and the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, 23 people have contracted corona in the last 24 hours in the district. Which is highest after Eid. Earlier, on May 20, the number of victims was 14. Thus, 19 people were infected in May 19, 15 were in May 18, 6 were in May 17 and 5 were in May 16.

Total 109 people have died in the district till yesterday.

The health department says more consciousness was needed in the movement of people. The health department said that the issue of keeping distance on the road, in the market, in the shopping mall is completely neglected.

Dr. SM Mustanjid, a health expert and former principal of Kushtia Medical College, says corona must be dealt with. So it is important to follow the health rules.

“We have to go out for necessities, we have to go to markets, shopping malls to make a living, but we have to follow the rules,” he said.

He agreed that the mask must be worn. He said the issue could not be ignored.

A district police official said that in the current reality, law enforcement has become very abstract. “Where to enforce the law, where everyone is relax to obeys the rules,” he said.

The official said policing, mobile courts are not being reduced. Even then people are not wearing masks.

Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saidul Islam said the people have to deal with Corona in order to survive. They have to be aware.

He said law enforcement would continue as per government directives.
