Justice Hasan Fayez Siddique has been re-appointed as the chairman of the Judicial Service Commission. This appointment was made on May 3 on the instructions of His Excellency the President. This recruitment will continue from the date of notification (May 3).
Hasan Fayez is currently a senior judge in the Appellate Division.
Hasan Fayez Siddiqui is a lawyer in the country’s top court of 90’s. He was one of the lawyers who had a long list of cases. He practiced career law for 20 years. During this time he handled various cases with utmost impartiality. He played a role in establishing truth and justice for the sake of law. Some have seen him only once or never, even his casual acquaintances know intuitively: Fayez was more than a great lawyer; A great man.
The last chapter of Hasan Fayez’s legal life was in 2001 when the then pro-liberation Awami League government appointed him as an additional judge in the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. Then in 2009 he was appointed as a permanent judge. In 2013, he was appointed to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
Justice Hasan Foez Siddiqui was born in 1956. He was fourth among his nine siblings. His childhood passed at his remote village which was covered by the River Gorai. He completed his primary education at Ajoil Government Primary School. After closing primary, he admitted for high schooling at Khoksa High School. He passed Matriculation in 1972 from the school, now Khoksa Government Pilot High School.
He traveled to Satkhira district and took admission at Archariya Prafulla College. He completed Higher Secondary from this college in 1974.
The he admitted to Satkhira College and completed Bachelor of Arts in 1976. He went to Dhaka and admitted Dhaka University for MA. He conducted MA in 1978.
Then he enrolled for LLB at Dhanmondi Law College and completed the degree in 1979.
After successful completion of education, Hasan Foez thought for attain with job. After various ways of thinking, he decided to open his carrier as a professional lawyer.
He joined to the Dhaka Bar in 1981 and got enrollment to Bangladesh Supreme Court in 1983.
Hasan Foez Siddique was a unique name of 90s at the apex court in the country.
He spent all 20 years career in practicing law. During that time, he led the development of law relied upon by those who speak truth to power, defending innocent in libel litigation, protecting them from injustice and establish the rule of law. He was one of the law lawyers own a long list of cases. But what eludes capture in the long list of cases, he handled conveying good sentiments. Some who saw him just once or never even these casual acquaintances intuitively know: Foez was more than a great lawyer; a great man.
