The traders were waiting for the government’s decision on whether to open shops and malls amid the ongoing restrictions due to Corona. Helaluddin, president of the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, said on Thursday that the government would decide on Sunday whether to open shops and shopping malls in the ongoing lockdown.
“We were waiting for the decision of the government,” he told.
Due to the increase in coronavirus infection further, the government imposed strict restrictions for one week from April 5 to April 11. Later it was relaxed and only the traffic in the city was limited and the shopping mall was opened for a certain period of time.
The seven-day ban was imposed again from April 14 to increase the infection. Later, on the recommendation of the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19, the Cabinet Division issued a notification extending its term till midnight on April 28.
