Eleven houses gutted in Daulatpur

Eleven houses have been burnt to ashes in a fire at Daulatpur upazila in Kushtia. At that time four goats were also burnt to death. The incident took place at Charsonatala village of the upazila on March 22. Four farmers were owner of the houses and animals.

According to locals, the fire originated from the kitchen of Wahab Majhi’s house of the village and engulfed to the nearby houses. Locals brought the fire under control by manual ways as was no fire service station there. Six houses of Wahab Majhi, two houses each of his sons Shipon and Liton and two houses of neighbour Abdul were burnt.

Sources said four goats worth about Tk 20,000, garlic, lentils and various types of food grains and furniture worth more than Tk 2 lakh were burnt to ashes.

Last week also 3 fire incidents took place in Daulatpur. The locals have demanded to set up a fire service station in the upazila.
