Today’s Historic March 7; After a long struggle, in the face of 23 years of exploitation, misrule and oppression, 49 years ago, an uncompromising public hero, one Sheikh Mujib, one Bangabandhu declared in a thunderous voice- ‘This time the struggle is for our liberation, this time the struggle is for freedom- Gave the word ‘freedom’ to a nation.

The day is therefore unique in the history of the Bengali nation’s freedom struggle and liberation war.

The nation feels a huge emotions, huge love circling the day. Because with Bangabandhu’s provocative declaration on March 7, the Bengali nation got the direction of independence.

Bangabandhu’s speech on the historic 7th of March made the sea of ​​people roar. The red-green flag with the map of Bangladesh fluttered in the drunken air of spring on that day in the arrogance of the sky-scraping slogans of millions of people. The freedom-loving people of the country started preparing for the final battle from house to house.

At this thunderous voice of Bangabandhu, the Bengali nation became excited with the joy of the coming great liberation. For centuries, the exploited and deprived Bengalis have stepped forward with steel-hardened determination for the desired liberation war.

After Bangabandhu’s March 7th speech, all walks of Bengali including students, peasants and workers prepared for the liberation war to achieve.

Responding to Bangabandhu’s call, the Bengali nation started armed liberation war against the Pakistani aggressors and earned independence with the victory on 16 December 1971. Independent sovereign Bangladesh was born on the world map.

Bangabandhu’s speech has been recognized by UNESCO as a historical document. The speech was recognized and listed as ‘Memory of the World International Registrar’ (MOW). This is the first Bangladeshi document in MOW, which will be officially and permanently preserved. The speech was translated into 12 languages.
