Professor Dr. Shahinoor Rahman has winded up his two terms of pro Vice-Chancellorship of Islamic University (IU) for 8 consecutive years. He is the first one of the university to serve at the post for eight consecutive years. He has been felicitated on the completion of this term at the campus on Monday. (February 22)
A farewell reception was held at the meeting room of the administration building. At the beginning of the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sheikh Abdus Salam gave a farewell reception with flowers and books.
Then Bangabandhu Parishad, Shapla Forum, heads of different halls, departments, different offices and IU Chhatra League gave him a farewell reception with crest.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Sarwad Murshed was presided over the event. Acting Registrar of the University Ataur Rahman, Deans of different faculties, Hall Provosts, various administrative heads, teachers, functionaries, employees and BCL leaders were present.
Vice Chancellor Professor Sheikh Abdus Salam said that Shahinoor Rahman was very sincere in his duties. VC said that he has got him by his side when he feels necessity and got good advice from him.
Vice-Chancellor said “We hope that as a teacher he will be the side of the university and working for the university.
Shahinoor Rahman served as the pro Vice-Chancellor for the first term from 20 February 2013 to 19 February 2017. On 22 February 2017, he was appointed at the post for the second time.
Reacting, Shahinoor Rahman said that he has been in charge for such a long time with great patience and honesty. “I had given utmost importance to devotion,” he said.
