The prominent businessman of Kushtia and proprietor of Sureka Enterprise Ajoy Sureka has been honored as the highest value added tax (VAT) payer in business category at the district level. He received the award from another sister organization, Green Enterprise.

In a reception, a commemorative memento was handed over to Ajoy Sureka, organized by the Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate Jessore Region on the occasion of National VAT Day and VAT Week 2020 on Thursday noon.

Commissioner of Customs House Benapole Md. Azizur Rahman was the chief guest on the occasion.

This honor was given to him from Kushtia district in the financial year 2018-19.

Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate Jessore Region Commissioner Md. Zakir Hossain presided over the function while Additional Commissioner of Customs, Excise and VAT Md. Fazlul Haque, Joint Commissioner Nahid Nowshad Mukul were present.

Sureka family involved in various businesses in and around the district.  Almost a hundred years have already passed. The fame of this family is already in possession of the country.

The ancestral business place is Rajarhat Bora Bazaar in the town.  However, Ajay Sureka, who started his career in the clothing business, is now a distributor of more than a dozen domestic and foreign companies.

Grameen Phone and Unilever Bangladesh are among the distribution business of Sureka.
Ajay has won the title of Best Distributor House of Grameen Phone eight times in a row.

On the other hand, another successful distributorship is going on with Uniliver Bangladesh for over 50 years. This business is widespread in Kushtia, Meherpur and Chuadanga. At present more than 500 people are working under this organization.

Ajoy, a graduate of Kolkata University, got involved in business when his father Mangturam Sureka suddenly fell ill in 1992. Under Ajay’s dynamic leadership, all the businesses of Sureka Enterprise became successful in a very short period of time.

Besides business, Ajoy Sureka is involved in various social activities. He is a life member of innumerable organizations. He has been assisting these organizations in various ways.

He helps in the education of the children who are in trouble, and helps them in various ways of living with the helpless adults.

He is also involved in politics of ruling Bangladesh Awami League.

As a successful businessman, his dream is to help build a better Sonar Bangla.
