A young boy and girl loved each other’s committed suicide seeing no possibility of marriage at Katlamari village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Wednesday.

Sources said the marriage was earned uncertainty due to caste. The boy was of Hindu family and the girl was of Muslim.

Sources said Sumon Biswas, son of Krishnapad Biswas, a cosmetics shopkeeper, fell in love with Mina Akhter, daughter of Maqbool Hossain of the same village. Their relationship started last May. Mina’s family sensed the matter and started pressuring her.

Sumon closed the shop on the night and went to meet Mina. They talked each other. Sumon left with Mina’s Orna saying good bye. From there he tried to commit suicide by hanging himself with a tree next to the house. He was rescued and taken to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.

The doctor declared Sumon dead.

After Sumon’s death, Mina could not accept the matter.

Finally, on Thursday (December 3) morning, she committed suicide by hanging himself from the wall of her house.

Jhenaidah Additional Superintendent of Police Abul Bashar admitted the fact.
